From download to your first result

  1. Extract and open

Extract the entire ZIP to a new folder. Open TestTarget.cmd, then Start.cmd. Keep the included folders together.

  2. Load the exercise

Choose Manage → Import ZIP and open samples/First-automation-controlled-target.zip. Select Visual Automation · Controlled Test Target as the target window.

  3. Start from EMPTY

Use Reset Test if needed. Keep the target visible and clear. In Run options, enable Minimize editor during run and leave automatic activation off. Click Start (3s), then click the target title bar during the countdown and leave it alone.

Keep the little floating menu clear

Collapse it with its tree icon and use its grey grip to place it beside the test window or in the title/header area. It must not cover the tree or inventory markers. If you see MENU WAIT, stop, move the controls clear, and start again deliberately.

A successful exercise reaches FULL → Complete → IDLE. Stop for review means it did not complete the exercise. If the inventory is already FULL, stopping without another click is expected.

F8 requests an emergency stop. The floating controls also have a Stop button. Keep the target visible and do not move or resize it during a run.

Quick answers before you start

What has this beta been checked on?

Beta 6 adds plan-access controls and passed focused automated checks. The earlier beta 5 native starter runs used Windows 11 x64, 100% scaling, a 1280 × 960 desktop and the included target. Those native runs were not repeated for beta 6. EMPTY reached FULL with one click; starting already FULL stopped without clicking. Other configurations and the deferred acceptance cases are not certified by those results. See the release notes for scope.

What if Windows blocks the app?

This beta is not signed by a verified publisher. Stop; a dedicated support email is not available yet. Do not disable security software. A matching checksum confirms the file bytes; it does not authenticate a publisher.

Where are my projects and how do updates work?

Projects are stored locally outside the extracted app folder. Export important projects through Manage → Export ZIP before changing versions. Updates are manual; there is no automatic updater.

How do I send feedback?

A dedicated support email is not available yet and no support response time is promised. If the Publisher has supplied you with a direct contact channel, you may use it. Otherwise, please check this page later for contact details. Review any screenshots, logs or project exports before sharing them.

How can I check the download?

Compare the downloaded ZIP's SHA-256 with the value below. Its exact size is 72,555,374 bytes.
